Solar System Quiz: check your knowledge with the Test!

Solar System Quiz: check your knowledge about sun, planets, satellites, orbits etc. Take the test!

With this solar system quiz test you can have fun assessing your knowledge about everything about our solar system. In our test you will find questions regarding planets, stars, galaxies and about many other notions that will serve as a check on the solar system! The Solar System is that portion of the Universe formed by our Sun, the Planets that revolve around it (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto), their satellites, and the stars and other celestial bodies that surround them. Our Solar System is not the only one in the Universe, but it is the only one-known so far-where on any of the planets revolving around the Sun conditions have developed that would allow a form of life to develop. The Planets in our solar system are very different from each other. Our Earth is the only one in which life has developed, but there are other differences as well. The first major distinction is made between the inner planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, which are smaller and warmer, and the outer or giant planets, Jupiter, Saturn Uranus, and Neptune, which are farther from the sun and therefore colder. Pluto is an exception: although it is distant from the sun, it is a very small and dense planet. Astronomers today, thanks to the power of modern technologies, are considering whether to annex to the Solar System even a tenth planet, even more distant from the Sun than Pluto, which until now has remained invisible to the instruments at our disposal. Between Mars and Jupiter there is a very dense belt of asteroids. Some are also very large and are named the Planets. Formed from a cloud of gas that has thickened over millions and millions of years, the Solar System seems to have formed 4 billion years ago. One day, our Solar System will no longer exist, as the Sun, being a star, is destined to collapse in on itself. Before it collapses, however, it will shrink. The gravity it will exert on the planets will cease to exist, and the planets will simply drift away, cold and dark! Was this brief summary enough to brush up on your knowledge of the Solar System?
