Massimiliano Rosolino is one of the greatest Italian swimmers of all time. Born in Naples in 1978, he was a member of the Italian national swimming team for many years, participating in numerous international competitions and winning numerous medals. Rosolino began swimming at the age of six and showed great talent early on. He began competing at the national and international level at the age of fourteen, participating in the 1992 European Youth Swimming Championships. Rosolino's first major success came at the 1995 European Swimming Championships, when he won the gold medal in the 200-meter medley. From then on, Rosolino went on to win medals in numerous international competitions, becoming one of the most famous and respected swimmers in the world. One of the most exciting moments in Rosolino's career was undoubtedly at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where he won three medals: gold in the 200-meter medley, silver in the 400-meter medley, and bronze in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. Rosolino swam outstandingly throughout the competition, proving that he is one of the best swimmers in the world. Rosolino continued to compete internationally for many years, competing in numerous competitions and winning numerous medals. In 2003 he won the gold medal in the 200-meter medley at the World Swimming Championships in Barcelona, and in 2004 he won the silver medal in the 200-meter medley at the European Swimming Championships in Madrid. Rosolino announced his retirement from competition in 2008 after competing in the Beijing Olympics. Although he stopped swimming professionally, Rosolino remained involved in the swimming world, becoming a coach and mentor to many young Italian swimmers.
